The third part deals with Russia and USA relations.
The survey was carried out in the autumn 2007, months before the conflict over South Ossetia in the Caucasus.
More students, 49%, believed that the USA and Russia were partners. 39% had the opposite opinion.
51 students out of 100 considered the USA as a good country. Overall, 75% had a positive or neutral attitude. 23% had a negative one.
77 respondents did not support the US foreign policy and 92 thought the war in Iraq was not justified.
78 students considered the USA as an aggressive country and 71 called President George W. Bush aggressive as well.
In private talks most students consider the USA responsible for cooled relations between the countries. Fewer students believe that Russia is to blame although they realize that the tension can be triggered by the increased role/power of Russia. Using other words there is a "clash of interests".
